I have sat back an observed this primitive dialog of "TOP BAY AREA ARTISTS". In order to have a "50" number of ANYTHING when speaking music, I would first have to know that from how many did you start with and also how extensive your background is in "BAY AREA RAP" period. I'm old school like the beenery line, and buying a box of "Chocodiles" for 2 bucks for lunch walkin to school. If you wasn't gettin em from OG Tower Records (I ain't goin to say which ones... LMMFAO!!!! Starlite Records, Leopolds in Berkeley, T-Wauzzy (misspelled I know), Rasputins, Rainbow Records, Amoeba Records (Grab a slice at Blondies in Berkeley), and of course the Haight St. One too. And I can't forget the place that made me fall in love with music was when my grandmother first took me to my all time favorite record store... (I can still describe the complete layout of the entire store, including the the first thing that hit you before the endless photos with the owner and almost EVERY artist that was out at the time in the Bay Area and East Coast, after the posters of who was out new... was the potent smell of Nag Champa as you enter the door of .... The "CREATIVE MUSIC EMPORIUM" and the owner Joe (REST IN MUSICAL PARADISE SIR.) I'm tearing up even now thinking about a time when I was little and after church at MACEDONIA BAPTIST CHURCH in the Fillmore District (Western Edition), my Grandfather would take my Grandmother to the bank on Ocean St. , and afterwards she would take me in there and browse all of the tapes and records. I got to see what they looked like on the posters and I learned so much by talking with Joe. I salute your love for music which I carry to this day. To keep it authentic, and to show you that I am not just copying a "LIST", I will bless you with my list of OLD SCHOOL BAY AREA!... IN TAPES!!!, just to send a jab in the direction of people who have the jobs discussin music, and should be glad that I am not lookin for work, or they would be unemployed and their subject matter expertise comes into question. But then again... Some music that people like call it "rap, or hip-hop", but it's "POP", AT BEST!!!... (THAT IS A WHOLE OTHER SUBJECT) I was separating the BAY from Sac, and others , but that is taking more time that I have on my hands at this moment, and please OVERstand that there is a WHOLE SQUADRON OF BAY AREA HIP-HOP heads who don't say nothin because who can blame you for what you haven't been taught? So to keep it 100, I'm going to give a quick Hunnid like them cigarettes my mom used to smoke... Enjoy! Just 1 of my lists... #ProvidingOursProperEducation # #popenent @popenent #oldschool #tapes #top50rap #PraxisMakesPerfect #sf #frisco #sf #suckafreecity #sfgiants #bayareatop50 #bayarea #blackownedbusiness
