The "Father" of Black Hid-story?

I find it a little strange that this man is to be considered the "Father" of Black Hid-story when we have had our Hid-Story many moons before Mr. Carter G. Woodson. That's one of the reasons for this blog section to take a stab at making an assessment of what is currently available for the sake of curiosity given that the first 30 definitions and descriptions of the brother come from people who are only repeating what they have read, verbatim in some cases.
The purpose of me going over some of the things that I have been told is because of some of the silliness that I have heard in regards to our "Hid-Story" from some people that I have met that was actually there during those times and not just hearsay.
There are a lot of parts of our Hid-Story that have yet to become common knowledge and they will never have the opportunity to do so as long as other people are telling it to you. Joe Budden made a very interesting point in his song called "3 sides to a story" He said (I am paraphrasing) There is YOUR side, there is the other person's side, and then there is the truth! I noticed that a lot lately in dealing with people and being unbiased with my interactions , I usually are talking to all parties involved. Or the fact that you have the TRUTH in your hands and people insist on sticking to their lie even when they are cold busted. I swear our people are handicapped, we are missing a couple of generations of "WE GONNA FIGURE IT OUT TOGETHER!", and for that subject, you have my word.
Anyways, Back to the homage that I was planning on paying to our ancestors.
"If a race has no history, It has no worthwhile tradition. It becomes a negligible factor in the thought of the world, and it stands in danger of being exterminated." - Carter G. Woodson (1875-1950)
This piece of literature says:
Carter G. Woodson is the "Father" of Black Hid-Story , He is said to have organized the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History in the year of 1910. It says that he obtained his PH.D from Harvard in 1912 and in 1926 he established the Month of February as Negro History Week, Which later became Black Hid-Story Month.?
First question????
How was he able to be black and say something and it just happened? Huh?
I have many questions and I will get back to this after I grab my next step in my present to make a better future.
POPEfully you will catch up like French Fry toppings, but EVERYBODY ain't able...lol
It's been said " We are the only species in which some are happy with just being a caterpillar!"
Happy Mom-day!
